There's a stillness to this piece that I noticed the moment I finished it. Sere is what I call it that quiet after the season turns, when everything has settled into itself. That's what this cuff carries.

I formed the five ridges by hand, drawing each bar out along the copper strip and running the chasing hammer down the length until the texture locked in. The wire wraps at the thirds I do those last, winding and tightening by hand until they sit flush and hold everything together without a single solder joint at the knot.

Every single piece of jewellery I make begins with the same intention: to be worn by someone who truly takes joy in it.

Copper has been worn directly against the skin for thousands of years — by Egyptian queens, Roman soldiers and generations of women before us. Quietly, every single day, close to the skin. I've been making this jewellery by hand for 33 years, and I've seen customers come back year after year.

What began as a craft became something I can only describe as a calling. But now my grandchildren are growing up without me always being there — and for the first time in 33 years there's something that matters more than the work.

Every piece in this collection is made with my own hands, one at a time. I can only create a limited number — and once they're gone, I won't make any more.

My mother lived to 96. She wore copper every single day.
